Traditional MRI scans usually take place when a patient lies in a supine position. However, this position may miss abnormalities that appear when the body carries natural weight. The G Scan Open MRI changes this process. It allows doctors to study how the spine and joints behave under normal weight bearing conditions. Therefore, clinicians can detect problems more accurately.

The system also helps doctors examine several medical conditions more effectively. These include chronic back and neck pain, disc herniations, spinal stenosis, spinal instability, knee and joint disorders, and sports related ligament problems. Meanwhile, doctors can observe the body’s response in positions that better reflect daily movement.

The new G Scan technology also supports dynamic positional scanning. Patients can undergo scans while standing, sitting, or bending. As a result, doctors gain a clearer understanding of functional spine movement and joint stress. The open MRI design also improves patient comfort during the imaging process.

Mallika Hospitals said the system represents a new generation of musculoskeletal imaging. The platform combines weight bearing MRI evaluation with advanced software tools that support functional and biomechanical analysis. Therefore, clinicians can study spine function in a more realistic and detailed way.
