Telangana Weather: El Nino impact may trigger heatwaves
Telangana Weather | Hyderabad, March 30: Weather experts have warned that El Nino conditions may strongly affect India this year. They said the impact may be severe in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Experts also said the weather pattern may resemble the difficult conditions seen in 2023.
According to experts, summer may show two clear phases. The first phase may continue until the end of April. During this period, the weather may remain slightly different from normal summer trends.
Usually, temperatures rise sharply in early summer. However, this year may see unseasonal rains. As seen in March, frequent rains may continue. Therefore, temperatures may stay under control until April. As a result, heat levels may remain lower than normal summer levels.
However, experts said this relief may only be temporary. They added that such rains also show unstable weather conditions. Therefore, people may need to prepare for changing patterns.
Telangana Weather | El Nino impact may bring severe heat from May
Experts said the real summer impact may begin in the second phase. From May to mid June, weather may turn completely dry. During this time, massive heatwaves may occur. Because of El Nino, land temperatures may rise sharply.
Day temperatures may reach very high levels. At the same time, hot winds may continue even during nights. Therefore, people may face discomfort for longer hours. The India Meteorological Department warned that heatwave intensity may increase. It said this could affect both health and agriculture.
Experts also said the southwest monsoon may arrive late this year. Normally, monsoon reaches Kerala in the first week of June. However, due to El Nino, it may arrive only in the second week or later.
Because of this delay, summer conditions may last longer. Also, heat levels may continue even in June. Rainfall may also remain below normal levels.
Experts recalled that similar conditions were seen in 2023. That year saw severe heat and low rainfall. Therefore, analysts said similar conditions may repeat this year if El Nino remains strong.
