Hyderabad, April 1 (Maxim News): Traffic came to a standstill on the Sagar Highway near LB Nagar on Wednesday after auto-rickshaw drivers staged a protest against the shortage of LPG fuel.Geographic Reference
Angered over the non-availability of gas despite waiting in long queues at filling stations, the drivers parked their autos across the road, blocking vehicular movement since morning hours. The protest led to a massive traffic jam on the busy stretch, causing inconvenience to commuters and motorists.
The protesting drivers said the ongoing shortage has severely affected their daily earnings. They also pointed out that rising auto fares, driven by the fuel crisis, are placing an additional burden on the public.
Demanding immediate intervention, the drivers required the government to streamline LPG supply and address their concerns at the earliest.
The Malkajgiri Commissionerate Police reached the spot trying to ease the traffic congestion and restore normalcy. (Maxim News)
