Angered over the non-availability of gas despite waiting in long queues at filling stations, the drivers parked their autos across the road, blocking vehicular movement since morning hours. The protest led to a massive traffic jam on the busy stretch, causing inconvenience to commuters and motorists.

The protesting drivers said the ongoing shortage has severely affected their daily earnings. They also pointed out that rising auto fares, driven by the fuel crisis, are placing an additional burden on the public.
