Hyderabad, April 5: A Hyderabad DJ Drug Raid led to the arrest of six persons for drug consumption during a late-night event in Golconda. The Telangana Police’s anti-narcotics agency, EAGLE force, carried out the operation at Taramati Baradari on Saturday night.
Acting on a tip-off, the State Task Force of the EAGLE team, along with Hyderabad and Cyberabad police, conducted a raid at an event titled ‘More than Friends’. The event was hosted by DJ Jason. Officials said the operation was planned carefully to avoid disruption to the gathering.
“Without disrupting the event, the teams conducted a surprise check. Using ABONN urine drug test kits, five tested positive for ganja. Additional testing revealed one more individual positive for Amphetamines. In total, six persons were confirmed as drug consumers,” said Sandeep Shandilya, Director EAGLE Force.
Meanwhile, authorities identified those caught during the Hyderabad DJ Drug Raid. The individuals include Sarwar, described as a model and actor, Nihar, a businessman, Aashi, also a businessman, Jason, a DJ, Yogeshwar, a businessman, and Abhinash, an analyst in pharmaceuticals. Officials confirmed their involvement based on test results.

Following the operation, police registered a case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, 1985, at the Hyderabad Narcotics Police Station. Further investigation is now in progress. Authorities are examining the circumstances around the event and the individuals involved.
The coordinated action by EAGLE Force, along with city police units, highlights ongoing enforcement efforts against drug use in public events. Also, officials maintained that the operation was conducted without causing panic or interruption to attendees. Further updates are expected as the investigation continues.

Eagle team officials raided the event after receiving information that drugs were being used. On this occasion, 36 people were tested and six tested positive.
