Hyderabad, April 14: BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) paid tributes to B R Ambedkar on the eve of his birth anniversary on April 14. He highlighted Ambedkar’s role as the architect of the Constitution and a champion of social justice.
K Chandrashekhar Rao described Ambedkar as a visionary. He said Ambedkar fought for equality beyond caste, religion, and gender. Moreover, he added that Ambedkar laid the foundation for a just and inclusive society. He noted that the Constitution continues to guide India’s systems.
KCR Remembers Ambedkar and Constitutional Legacy
He recalled that Telangana was formed through Article 3 of the Constitution. Therefore, he credited Ambedkar for strengthening India’s federal structure. He said this framework enabled state formation within constitutional limits.
K Chandrashekhar Rao stated that the previous BRS government drew inspiration from Ambedkar. He said schemes like Dalit Bandhu aimed to empower Scheduled Castes. In addition, he noted efforts to support Backward Classes and women. He also mentioned the implementation of the SC and ST Sub Plan.
He further recalled the construction of the State Secretariat named after Ambedkar. He also cited the installation of a 125 foot Ambedkar statue in Hyderabad. These, he said, reflect respect for Ambedkar’s legacy. Finally, he stressed that true tribute lies in advancing social justice and uplifting marginalised communities.
