K Laxman targets Revanth Reddy over democracy and delimitation
Laxman also spoke about delimitation and representation. He said seat expansion must follow the existing ratio. This, he added, would protect southern States from losing representation.
He criticised opposition leaders over their stance on delimitation and the Women’s Reservation Bill. He alleged that such statements were politically motivated. He also defended the policies of Narendra Modi.
The BJP MP questioned the Congress party’s position on delimitation criteria. He asked whether economic indicators like GSDP should be used. He stressed that every vote must carry equal value.
Laxman further accused the opposition of limiting opportunities for women and marginalised groups. He alleged attempts to reduce representation for women, SCs, and STs.
In a sharp remark, he said democracy appeared to mean money for the Chief Minister. He also alleged that politics was being driven by cash.
