Women Reservation Bill Defeat Sparks Political Row
Kadiyam Kavya alleged that the BJP undermined constitutional values and misled people on women’s issues. She questioned the party’s commitment to women’s empowerment.
Errabelli Swarna claimed that linking the Women Reservation Bill with delimitation was an attempt to defame Congress. She also accused the Centre of failing to prevent crimes against women.
Gundu Sudharani said misinformation was being spread about Congress opposing reservations. Meanwhile, MLA Nayini Rajender Reddy criticised the BJP and questioned central fund allocations to Telangana.
Vardhannapet MLA Nagaraju alleged a conspiracy against southern states. He said the INDIA alliance blocked the move to protect regional interests.
The leaders reiterated that the Women Reservation Bill defeat was necessary due to its linkage with delimitation. The 131st Constitutional Amendment Bill failed to secure the required majority in the Lok Sabha.
