Hyderabad, May 4: Fire Safety Week in India will be observed from May 4 to May 10, 2026, to strengthen fire prevention and safety measures in healthcare facilities.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will organise the nationwide initiative in coordination with States, Union Territories, and central departments. The programme aims to raise awareness on fire hazard prevention and emergency preparedness.
The observance will be inaugurated at Kartavya Bhawan in New Delhi under the chairpersonship of Union Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava. The event will launch a series of activities planned across the country.
A fire safety pledge will be administered during the inaugural session. It will emphasise adherence to safety norms and improved preparedness in healthcare institutions.
Fire Safety Week in India focuses on hospital preparedness
During Fire Safety Week in India, authorities will conduct awareness campaigns and mock drills. They will also organise training sessions and share fire safety protocols with healthcare staff.
These activities aim to improve emergency response and evacuation readiness in hospitals. They will also help administrators understand risk mitigation strategies.
