Prices of Totapuri mango dropped from Rs 1.10 lakh per tonne in February to Rs 4000 to Rs 7000 now. Similarly, premium Banganapalli mango prices fell from Rs 1.75 lakh to around Rs 50000 to Rs 60000 per tonne.

Several factors have driven the sharp fall. Exports have stalled, reportedly due to disruptions linked to the Strait of Hormuz. In addition, diesel shortages and trader syndicates have affected market movement.
