Hyderabad, May 4: Heavy rains alert in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has been issued as the weather department forecast thunderstorms and gusty winds over the next five days.
The warning comes amid intense heat across both states, where daytime temperatures remain high and conditions stay uncomfortable even in the evening.
According to the forecast, several regions will receive rainfall starting today. In Andhra Pradesh, heavy rains with thunderstorms are expected for the next five days.
In North Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema, strong winds of 40 to 60 kmph are likely along with heavy rain. In addition, Palnadu and Prakasam districts may see moderate rain with lightning at isolated places.
Meanwhile, NTR, Nellore, and Tirupati districts may receive light rain with thunderstorms in some areas.

In Telangana, moderate rainfall is likely in parts of Adilabad, Khammam, and Nalgonda districts. The weather department said these showers may bring temporary relief from ongoing heat conditions.
However, authorities have advised caution due to the risk of lightning and gusty winds. People are urged to avoid open areas during storms.
