Totapuri mango prices dropped from Rs 1.10 lakh per tonne in February to Rs 4000 to Rs 7000 now. Likewise, premium Banganapalli mango prices fell from Rs 1.75 lakh to Rs 50000 to Rs 60000 per tonne.

The sharp fall is linked to multiple factors. Exports have stalled, reportedly due to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. In addition, diesel shortages and trader syndicates have affected market flow.

As a result, mango stocks have surged in local markets. Therefore, consumers are now able to buy mangoes at much lower prices.
