Internet/Hyderabad, May 4 (Maxim News): BJP is storming towards power in the West Bengal Assembly elections. BJP continues to lead in almost 200 seats. This has confirmed the defeat of TMC. However, violence is breaking out in many places in West Bengal on Monday. BJP workers set fire to the TMC office in Asansol, West Bardhaman area. Chairs, tables and equipment in the party office were destroyed.
Nearby vehicles were also damaged. The incident took place a short distance from the counting center. Central security forces were deployed in the area and the situation was brought under control. Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate Commissioner Pawan Kumar responded to the incident. He said that the TMC office was attacked and strict action will be taken after identifying those responsible. On the other hand, violence also broke out in Dinhata in Cooch Behar. TMC and BJP workers attacked each other.
As the situation became tense, security forces lathi-charged the protesters. West Bengal, which has 294 assembly seats, needs 148 seats to come to power. The BJP is leading by crossing the majority mark. The TMC is likely to win 90-100 seats. However, Mamata Banerjee said that the results will change by the evening. She believes that her TMC will come to power. (Maxim News)
