Modi Target Finish, Check For Those Four Regional Parties

Hyderabad, May 4 (Maxim News): The BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is moving forward with the aim of reducing the strength of regional parties. The regional parties in the respective states have become an indispensable tool for the BJP, which is trying to make inroads in West Bengal and the South. It can be said that Modi, who has targeted the respective parties, has succeeded in damaging them directly and indirectly.

KCR (BRS) in Telangana, Stalin (DMK) in Tamil Nadu, Mamata Banerjee (TMC) in West Bengal, and Kejriwal (Aam Aadmi Party) in Delhi have emerged as unstoppable forces in their states. The BJP wanted to defeat them politically and gain a foothold in the southern and eastern states. It targeted these leaders with the intention of eliminating the presence of regional parties.

1. KCR in Telangana (BRS): KCR, who not only gained recognition through the Telangana movement but also emerged as a movement leader, became the Chief Minister after the formation of Telangana state. However, KCR disagreed with the central government, especially Modi, on many issues. He has been strengthening secularism against religious politics. He was the Chief Minister of Telangana for ten years, and in order to become an alternative force, he not only transformed the TRS party into BRS but also tried to expand it across the country. On the other hand, he tried to form an alliance with regional parties. This became an issue that the center, especially Modi, could not swallow. With this, the strategy of ‘target KCR’ was implemented. In the last elections, Modi targeted KCR, considering KCR to be more dangerous than the Congress in the state, and put all his efforts into defeating BRS. He tried to damage his image by implicating KCR’s daughter Kavitha in a liquor scam. As a result, the transfer of power in Telangana was possible. While the Congress won the last assembly elections, the KCR-led BRS was in the opposition. It can be said that Modi achieved victory by making BRS unrepresented in the Lok Sabha. The Modi-led BJP is trying hard to emerge as the main opposition party in Telangana. The BJP’s main goal is to turn the opposition in power in its favor.

2. Kejriwal (Aam Aadmi Party) Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, who represented Delhi as the Chief Minister twice, has also become an indispensable tool for the BJP. He has been criticizing Modi’s policies in every aspect. With this, they tried to stop him by bringing corruption allegations against him and issues like liquor scam to the fore. In that direction, he succeeded by defeating that party in the last assembly elections. On the other hand, Kejriwal recently shocked the BJP by including several MPs from that party in the party.

3. Stalin in Tamil Nadu (DMK): It is a difficult matter for the BJP to confront Stalin in Tamil Nadu, where Dravidian politics is strong. However, Modi wants to bring leaders like Annamalai into the field and consolidate his position there through an ideological struggle. The BJP has tried hard to damage Stalin in Tamil Nadu through Sanatana Dharma and other ideological issues. However, even though the people there did not support the BJP, Stalin had to lose power in the form of Vijay. By bringing the controversy over the issue of Sanatana Dharma along with the opposition to the government to the fore, it succeeded in ousting the Stalin government in Tamil Nadu.

4. Mamata in Bengal: Defeating Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal has become a prestigious challenge for the BJP. Although the BJP has significantly increased its strength there in the Lok Sabha elections, surpassing Didi in the Assembly is still a challenge. The BJP is targeting her through corruption issues and grassroots struggles. The BJP is implementing strategies to restrain Mamata Banerjee in Bengal through corruption allegations and law and order issues. It can be said that Modi and Amit campaigned and won by targeting Mamata in the recent elections.

Since the other four leaders, except KCR, are also key in the ‘INDI Alliance’ alliance at the national level, it seems that the Modi government is aiming to achieve an unassailable lead by the 2029 elections by weakening them. However, since these four leaders are also popular leaders, this political battle is likely to become more interesting in the coming days. Overall, the ‘target’ has been achieved as Modi intended, but it remains to be seen whose side the people will take in the future in this battle between regional identity vs. nationalism.
