Hyderabad: A woman software employee died by suicide at her residence in Madinaguda under Miyapur police station limits on Monday night. Police identified the deceased as Madhuri, who was living with her son after separating from her husband following a divorce.
According to police, Madhuri allegedly ended her life by hanging herself when no one was present at home. The incident came to light after her father repeatedly tried to contact her over phone but did not receive any response.
Worried over the situation, he alerted neighbours, who entered the house and found her unconscious. They immediately informed the police.
Police Begin Investigation Into Incident
Soon after receiving information, Miyapur police reached the spot and shifted the body for postmortem examination. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
Police suspect that Madhuri may have been under emotional distress due to personal issues. However, officials said the exact reasons behind the incident will be known only after a detailed investigation.
Investigators are also examining her phone records and speaking to family members and close acquaintances to gather more information about her mental condition in recent days.
The incident has once again highlighted growing concerns over mental health and emotional stress among working professionals in urban areas. Cases related to depression, loneliness, and personal struggles have been increasing in Hyderabad in recent years, according to officials.
Police urged people facing emotional distress to seek support from family members, friends, or professional counsellors instead of taking extreme steps.
