Damodar Raja Narasimha Inspects TIMS Sanathnagar Ahead Of Launch

Hyderabad, May 12 (Maxim News): Telangana Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha on Tuesday inspected the ongoing medical services trial run at TIMS Sanathnagar and reviewed the preparedness of the hospital ahead of its formal inauguration scheduled in June.

The Minister visited all A, B and C Blocks of the hospital and inspected various departments including outpatient registration, inpatient wards, emergency services, CT scan, MRI, laboratories, mechanised laundry, kitchen and pharmacy facilities.

He directed officials from the Roads and Buildings Department and the Health Department to complete all pending works on a war footing. He also instructed authorities to ensure uninterrupted water and electricity supply to the hospital round the clock.

Damodar Raja Narasimha stressed that there should be no compromise on fire safety standards and ordered a complete reinspection of all floors in the hospital complex.

TIMS Sanathnagar To Function As Major Emergency Healthcare Centre

During the inspection, the Minister reviewed arrangements at the reception area, help desks, OP counters, waiting halls, OP consultation rooms, diagnostic units and inpatient wards. He instructed officials to increase the number of registration and pharmacy counters to improve patient convenience and reduce waiting time.

The Minister also inspected advanced medical equipment including CT scan, MRI, X ray and ultrasound machines. He directed Health Department officials to ensure adequate deployment of doctors, technicians and support staff so that all advanced facilities are fully utilised for patient care.

He stated that the hospital should be fully prepared with all facilities before inauguration and emphasised that the government’s main objective is to provide quality healthcare services to poor and needy patients.

Speaking to the media, Damodar Raja Narasimha said the hospital is currently undergoing a successful medical services trial run while some finishing works are still in progress. He said officials have been instructed to complete all remaining works within the stipulated deadline.

The Minister stated that TIMS Sanathnagar is being developed as a major 1,000 bed healthcare institution with 300 emergency beds capable of handling large scale medical emergencies and saving lives during critical situations.

He further said the hospital would emerge as a Centre of Excellence for treatment of cardiac diseases and organ transplant surgeries. An advanced medical research centre will also be established within the hospital premises.

Senior officials from the Health Department and Roads and Buildings Department accompanied the Minister during the inspection. (Maxim News)
