Several leaders have reduced convoy sizes, shifted to Metro services and increased the use of electric vehicles to support the Centre’s energy conservation initiative.

The nationwide move comes as geopolitical tensions in West Asia continue to raise concerns over fuel supplies, rising import bills and foreign exchange pressure.

In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to reduce convoy vehicles by 50 percent.

The Uttar Pradesh government also encouraged work from home arrangements and virtual meetings wherever possible.
