Hyderabad, May 16: Narendra Modi arrived in the Netherlands on Friday as part of his multi nation visit aimed at strengthening India Europe ties.
The Prime Minister landed in Amsterdam before scheduled meetings in The Hague with Dutch leadership. The visit focuses on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, technology, and clean energy.
Randhir Jaiswal said the visit will strengthen the India Netherlands partnership and provide an opportunity to engage with the Indian diaspora.
PM Modi to boost India-Europe ties and trade
Modi said the visit comes at a significant time following progress in the India European Union free trade agreement. He added that discussions would cover semiconductors, water management, clean energy, and emerging technologies.
The Prime Minister is expected to hold talks with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof. He will also meet King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima.
Officials said discussions will include climate action, green hydrogen, maritime cooperation, agriculture, defence, and resilient supply chains.
The Netherlands remains one of India’s major economic partners in Europe. Rotterdam serves as a key gateway for Indian exports into the European market.
Modi is also scheduled to address members of the Indian diaspora during his visit. Community members in the Netherlands expressed enthusiasm ahead of the interaction.
Members of the Indian community highlighted strong bilateral trade and investment ties between the two countries. They also praised growing cooperation in recent years.
The visit comes as India continues to deepen strategic and economic engagement with European nations.
