Hyderabad, May 17: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices in Hyderabad have reached nearly Rs 100 per kilogram after the latest fuel price hike announced by the Central government, making it one of the costliest cities for CNG users in the country.
The fresh increase of Rs 1 per kg came just two days after an earlier hike of Rs 2 per kg linked to rising petrol and diesel prices.
With the latest revision, CNG prices have increased by a total of Rs 3 per kg within only two days.
Hyderabad Records Highest CNG Price
Following the revision, CNG prices in New Delhi rose to Rs 80.09 per kg, while Mumbai recorded Rs 84.09 per kg.
In Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, the revised CNG price now stands at Rs 88.70 per kg.
However, Hyderabad has witnessed the sharpest impact, with CNG prices touching the Rs 100 mark.
The steep rise has triggered concern among commuters, transport operators and auto-rickshaw drivers who depend heavily on CNG for daily operations.
Many vehicle owners had earlier shifted from petrol and diesel vehicles to CNG due to its lower running costs, better mileage and environmentally friendly nature.

Several motorists also invested heavily in converting their vehicles into CNG-compatible systems expecting long-term savings.
However, continuous price hikes and supply shortages are now raising doubts about the affordability and reliability of the fuel.
Auto-rickshaw drivers and commercial transport operators said the increasing fuel costs are severely affecting their daily earnings.
Drivers complained that operational expenses have increased sharply due to both rising prices and irregular fuel availability.
Transport workers have urged the government to take immediate measures to improve CNG supply and control escalating fuel prices.
They warned that continued hikes would place additional financial pressure on both public transport operators and ordinary passengers.
The latest increase has also intensified debate over fuel pricing policies as transportation costs continue rising across major Indian cities.
