Karimnagar, May 24: A youth was found dead under suspicious circumstances near the Lower Manair Dam area on the outskirts of Ramakrishna Colony in Karimnagar district on Saturday, creating tension among local residents.
The deceased was identified as Jasti Srinidh, a resident of Sadasivpalli village.
According to preliminary information, local people noticed the body hanging from a tree and immediately alerted the police.
Police teams rushed to the spot and shifted the body for postmortem examination.
Officials stated that the incident appeared suspicious because the hands of the deceased were reportedly tied together with a rope.
The condition of the body raised doubts among police and locals that the youth might have been murdered before being hanged to make the death appear as a suicide.
Investigators are examining all possible angles, including personal disputes and other motives behind the incident.
Police also began collecting forensic evidence from the scene and questioning relatives, friends, and local residents to gather more information about Srinidh’s movements before his death.
The body was sent to a government hospital for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Police said further details would emerge after the postmortem report and completion of the investigation.
The suspicious death has shocked residents in the area, while police intensified efforts to identify those responsible if foul play is confirmed.
