Welfare and Development Are Equal Priorities: Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad, June 2: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday said the Congress government is giving equal priority to welfare and development while implementing schemes aimed at improving the lives of people across Telangana.

Addressing Telangana State Formation Day celebrations at the Parade Ground in Secunderabad, he extended greetings to the people and said the government is working to fulfil the aspirations of the State.

Welfare and Development Remain Government’s Focus

Revanth Reddy thanked former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi for their role in the formation of Telangana. He said the government has been working for public welfare since assuming office and is moving towards the goals outlined in Telangana Vision 2047.

The Chief Minister said the government has filled more than 67,000 jobs through a transparent recruitment process without legal disputes. He announced that the Telangana Public Service Commission will soon issue fresh notifications for posts in engineering, public health, forestry, town planning, and education.

He also said pre primary classes have been introduced in 1,362 government schools. In addition, breakfast is being provided in government educational institutions, while plans are underway to introduce a mid day meal scheme for junior college students.

Highlighting housing initiatives, Revanth Reddy said the government has constructed 1.25 lakh Indiramma houses in the last 13 months. He stated that Rs 22,000 crore is being spent on housing for the poor and that 3.5 lakh more houses have been sanctioned for the current financial year.

The Chief Minister said one lakh additional Indiramma houses will be built under the CURE scheme. He also noted that the government has issued new ration cards to eligible beneficiaries who had been waiting for several years.

On the occasion, the government presented distinguished service awards to police personnel in recognition of their outstanding service.
