Hyderabad, June 2 (Maxim News): Congress MLC Addanki Dayakar strongly opposed Jana Sena chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s proposed media interaction in Hyderabad, escalating the political row over the Telangana Nava Nirman Sabha.
The controversy began after Telangana Police denied permission for Pawan Kalyan’s public meeting in Hyderabad. Subsequently, Jana Sena approached the Telangana High Court seeking urgent relief. However, the court declined to entertain the plea, following which Pawan Kalyan announced that he would address the media at his Jubilee Hills residence between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm.
Speaking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan, Addanki Dayakar questioned the necessity of the proposed press conference and said permission should not be granted for the event.
Dayakar alleged that the BJP was using Pawan Kalyan as part of a broader political strategy in Telangana. He claimed that efforts were being made to create political tensions in the state and accused the BJP of attempting to gain political mileage through the controversy.
The Congress leader also questioned the silence of the BRS over the issue. He asked why the opposition party had not reacted to the developments surrounding the proposed Jana Sena programme.
Furthermore, Dayakar alleged that attempts were being made to create divisions among people on Telangana Formation Day. He said Telangana has remained peaceful and urged political parties not to disturb communal harmony or social unity.
Referring to Pawan Kalyan’s past remarks on Telangana, Dayakar said people had not forgotten statements made during the statehood movement. He argued that leaders who had opposed Telangana in the past should exercise caution while making political interventions in the state.
Congress Calls for Friendly Ties Between States
Meanwhile, Dayakar said the Telangana government supports cordial relations between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He stressed that both states should work together for development rather than engage in political confrontation.
He also stated that Congress remains committed to the development of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and supports cooperation between the two Telugu states.
The remarks come amid heightened political exchanges over Pawan Kalyan’s planned outreach in Telangana and the denial of permission for the proposed Telangana Nava Nirman Sabha.(Maxim News)
