Hyderabad, June 2 (Maxim News): The Telangana High Court on Monday declined to entertain an urgent petition filed by Jana Sena Party seeking permission to hold its proposed Telangana Nava Nirman Sabha in Hyderabad.
The development comes after Telangana Police denied permission for the public meeting scheduled to be held in the city. Jana Sena leaders subsequently approached the High Court through a House Motion Petition, requesting immediate intervention and approval for the event.
However, the court registry reportedly refused to treat the matter as urgent. Since the High Court is currently on summer vacation, the petition underwent preliminary scrutiny. The registry observed that the issue did not warrant emergency consideration and declined to take up the matter for urgent hearing.
Earlier, Jana Sena leaders had sought permission from the Cyberabad Police to conduct the Telangana Nava Nirman Sabha. Police denied the request, citing various reasons, including law and order concerns and security arrangements linked to Telangana Formation Day celebrations.
Challenging the police decision, the party moved the High Court. However, the court’s refusal to hear the matter on an urgent basis effectively ended hopes of securing permission for the proposed meeting.
Meanwhile, Jana Sena Party has not issued an official statement on the High Court’s decision.
In the wake of the setback, Jana Sena chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has decided to address the media instead of holding the public meeting. According to party sources, he will conduct a press conference at his residence in Jubilee Hills between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm on Monday.
The planned media interaction follows Pawan Kalyan’s earlier announcement on social media regarding his response if permission for the meeting was denied.
