Addressing a gathering that included prominent personalities and members of the Telangana diaspora, Revanth Reddy reflected on his political journey and the circumstances that led him to join Congress. He said Telangana people wanted a strong political force to challenge the then BRS government and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
Revanth Reddy stated that several political options were available to him after resigning from the TDP. However, he chose Congress because the party played a decisive role in the formation of Telangana.
He credited former Congress president Sonia Gandhi for keeping her promise to the people of Telangana and ensuring the creation of the state after a prolonged struggle.
The Chief Minister said Congress earned a special place in Telangana’s political history by recognizing the aspirations of the people and delivering statehood. He noted that the formation of Telangana marked the culmination of a movement that lasted more than six decades.
Revanth Reddy said his decision to join Congress aligned with the aspirations of Telangana citizens who sought political change and stronger representation.
During the interaction, the Chief Minister also made interesting remarks about the functioning of IAS and IPS officers. He described bureaucrats as highly intelligent professionals and said he follows a unique approach during official review meetings.
According to Revanth Reddy, he usually listens carefully to officials instead of speaking at the beginning of meetings. He said he observes presentations, reviews inputs, and studies the details shared by departments before expressing his views.
The Chief Minister added that he generally speaks toward the end of meetings and takes key decisions after hearing all perspectives. This method, he said, helps him make informed administrative decisions and improve governance outcomes.
Revanth Reddy emphasized that effective governance requires coordination between elected representatives and the bureaucracy. He said his government remains committed to meeting public expectations and accelerating Telangana’s development.
The Bengaluru event provided a platform for the Chief Minister to discuss Telangana’s political evolution, governance priorities, and administrative reforms. His remarks also highlighted the role of Congress in Telangana’s formation and his approach to leadership since assuming office. (Maxim News)
