Hyderabad, June 14: Sonam Wangchuk joined the Cockroach Janta Party protest at Dharna Chowk on Friday as participants demanded accountability over the alleged NEET UG question paper leak and sought the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The Hyderabad protest forms part of a nationwide campaign taking place in several cities between June 11 and June 20. Protesters gathered at Dharna Chowk and raised slogans against the Union government and the Education Ministry.
Former IAS officer and former Telangana Education Commission chairman Akunuri Murali attended the protest. He criticised the Centre and demanded the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan over issues linked to the examination system.
As Sonam Wangchuk arrived at the venue, participants welcomed him with slogans praising his work in the education sector. Protesters also displayed portraits of Dr B R Ambedkar during the gathering.

Meanwhile, several participants raised concerns about the condition of government schools and the rising cost of education. A teacher at the protest said government school students deserve better infrastructure and quality learning facilities.
Protesters also called for social harmony. They raised slogans promoting unity among different communities. The organisers said education reforms and transparency in examinations remain key demands of the campaign.
The protest continued through the morning under police supervision. No untoward incidents were reported.
