Hyderabad, August 17 (Maxim News): Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy inaugurated the TIMS Sanath Nagar hospital in Erragadda on Monday. The 1,000 bed super specialty hospital aims to strengthen government healthcare services in Hyderabad.
The TIMS Sanath Nagar hospital stands on 22.6 acres in Erragadda. The state government spent around Rs 1,100 crore on the project. The facility has five major blocks with modern medical and administrative infrastructure.
The hospital will provide advanced treatment across several medical specialties. It will also expand access to high end healthcare through the public health system.
Officials conducted a trial run before the formal inauguration. During this phase, the hospital operated its day care services on a pilot basis. The facility treated around 250 patients each day during the trial period.
The trial run also helped officials assess medical services and patient care systems. In addition, staff tested medical equipment and other hospital facilities before the full launch.
The government has also made key administrative appointments for the hospital. Former Director of Medical Education Dr A Narendra Kumar serves as the in charge director. Former Additional Director of Medical Education Dr Mahboob Khan serves as the in charge superintendent.
TIMS Sanath Nagar hospital gets medical staff and modern facilities
The TIMS Sanath Nagar hospital has received staff from Gandhi Hospital, Osmania General Hospital and NIMS. The government has also recruited around 200 additional medical personnel for the facility.
These appointments include doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers. Therefore, officials expect the hospital to gradually expand services toward its full capacity.
The hospital forms part of the state’s efforts to improve public healthcare infrastructure. Its location in Erragadda will also help patients from several parts of Hyderabad access specialized treatment.
The 1,000 bed capacity makes the facility a major addition to the city’s government hospital network. Moreover, the modern infrastructure is expected to support treatment for patients requiring specialized medical care.
Officials have prepared the hospital’s clinical and administrative systems for regular operations. The staff deployment will continue according to service requirements and patient demand.
The government has focused on operational readiness through the trial phase. This process allowed officials to identify and address issues before the formal inauguration.
With the facility now formally opened, patients can access services through the government healthcare system. The hospital is expected to play a larger role as departments and services reach planned capacity.
The inauguration also marks another step in expanding specialized healthcare facilities in Telangana. The government has positioned the TIMS Sanath Nagar hospital as an important centre for advanced public healthcare in Hyderabad. (Maxim News)
