Hyderabad: The Telangana government will organize grand Mushaira events across the state as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Urdu Academy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced on Saturday.
The Deputy Chief Minister made the announcement during a high level review meeting on minority welfare and development initiatives held at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat. Minority Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin, chairpersons of minority institutions, and senior officials attended the meeting.
Bhatti Vikramarka said the government plans to celebrate the Urdu Academy’s Golden Jubilee in a big way to promote Urdu language, literature, and culture. He directed officials to conduct large scale Mushaira programmes in Hyderabad as well as all district headquarters.
He instructed officials to make suitable arrangements for a major Mushaira event at LB Stadium in Hyderabad. The programme will showcase the rich literary and cultural heritage of Urdu and bring together renowned poets and literary personalities from different regions.

The Deputy Chief Minister said the state government remains committed to preserving and promoting Urdu, which has a deep historical and cultural connection with Telangana. He noted that the Golden Jubilee celebrations would provide a platform to encourage literary activities and strengthen the language among younger generations.
Officials informed the meeting that detailed plans are being prepared to ensure the successful conduct of the celebrations. The events will feature poetry recitals, cultural programmes, and literary interactions aimed at highlighting the contribution of Urdu to Telangana’s cultural identity.
Urdu Academy Chairman Taher Bin Hamdan and senior Minority Welfare Department officials also participated in the review meeting. The government expects the Golden Jubilee celebrations to attract large participation from poets, writers, students, and Urdu lovers across the state.
