Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute incentives worth around Rs 2,400 crore under the PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM VBRY) at a special programme in New Delhi on Friday. The scheme has already helped create nearly 15 lakh employment opportunities across the country since its launch.
The PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana aims to encourage job creation and increase participation in the formal economy. Under the scheme, first time employees can receive incentives of up to Rs 15,000 as financial support when they enter the workforce.
Employers who generate additional jobs are eligible for incentives of up to Rs 3,000 per month for every new employee. The government introduced the programme to support sustained employment growth and strengthen formal sector hiring.
PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana Focuses on Job Creation
The scheme provides special support to the manufacturing sector. Employers in manufacturing can receive incentives for four years, while employers in other sectors can avail benefits for two years.
According to the government, the PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana reflects its commitment to employment led growth and quality job creation, particularly for young people entering the workforce.
The scheme came into effect in August 2025 with a total financial outlay of Rs 99,446 crore. It aims to facilitate the creation of more than 3.5 crore jobs over a two year period.
Out of the targeted beneficiaries, around 1.92 crore are expected to be first time job seekers. The government believes the initiative will expand formal employment, improve social security coverage and support the vision of a developed India.
Officials said the scheme is expected to benefit both employees and employers while creating a stronger and more inclusive labour market. The incentive distribution programme at Vigyan Bhawan marks another milestone in the implementation of the employment initiative.
