Hyderabad, June 24 (Maxim News): Telangana Minister for Minorities Welfare and Public Enterprises Mohammed Azharuddin on Tuesday participated in a high level review meeting on arrangements for Bonalu Festival 2026, stressing the need for coordinated planning to ensure smooth, safe and convenient celebrations for devotees.
The review meeting was chaired by Minister for BC Welfare and Transport Ponnam Prabhakar and focused on preparations for the annual festival across Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. Minister Konda Surekha joined the meeting through video conference.
The meeting brought together public representatives, temple chairpersons, senior police officials, district commissioners and officers from multiple government departments to assess the status of festival arrangements and finalise key logistics ahead of the celebrations.
Bonalu Festival 2026 arrangements reviewed in Hyderabad
Among those present were Jubilee Hills MLA V Naveen Yadav, Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Yadav, Telangana DGP C V Anand, Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender, senior IAS officer Shailaja, and Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar, along with officials from the departments concerned.
Addressing the meeting, Azharuddin said Bonalu is not only an important religious festival but also a reflection of Telangana’s culture, traditions and communal harmony. He said the comfort, safety and convenience of devotees must remain the top priority for every department involved in festival management.

The minister thanked public representatives, temple management committees and officials for working towards organising the festival in a grand and peaceful manner. He urged departments to maintain close coordination and ensure that arrangements are completed without delay.
Azharuddin asked officials to focus on public safety, sanitation, drinking water supply, traffic regulation, medical preparedness and emergency response during the festival period. He also directed officers to remain accessible to the public and address any issues promptly.
Officials reviewed the Bonalu Festival 2026 schedule, Ambari processions, security measures, transport arrangements, sanitation works, health services, cultural programmes and other logistical preparations. Departments assured the ministers that all arrangements would be completed in advance to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival.
The meeting ended with a collective commitment from officials and stakeholders to make Bonalu Festival 2026 a safe and spiritually significant celebration for lakhs of devotees expected to participate across the three districts. (Maxim News)
