Hyderabad, June 28: Bharat Rashtra Samithi Working President K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday paid tribute to Bharat Ratna P.V. Narasimha Rao on his birth anniversary and described him as a pioneer of economic reforms, a multilingual scholar and an outstanding statesman.
KTR said P.V. Narasimha Rao led India through a difficult economic period and helped the country emerge from a major crisis through decisive leadership.
KTR Highlights PV Narasimha Rao Legacy
In a message shared on social media, KTR said that P.V. Narasimha Rao being born in Telangana remains a matter of pride for the people of the State.
He recalled that the previous BRS government organised the centenary celebrations of P.V. Narasimha Rao on a grand scale to honour his contributions to the nation.
KTR stated that the government had named the Veterinary University after P.V. Narasimha Rao and renamed Necklace Road as PV Marg.
He also noted that a statue of the former Prime Minister was installed to commemorate his legacy and contributions.
P.V. Narasimha Rao served as India’s Prime Minister from 1991 to 1996 and is widely recognised for introducing key economic reforms during a period of financial crisis.
