Chandrababu Naidu Calls For Revival Of Joint Family System

Hyderabad, June 28: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu called for reviving the joint family system and urged fathers to take greater responsibility in raising children. He said child care should not remain the sole responsibility of mothers.

The Chief Minister made these remarks while participating in the Pulse Polio programme on National Immunization Day. He administered polio drops to children and interacted with parents and family members.

Naidu asked parents about their children’s health, vaccination schedules and the challenges of balancing work and childcare. He stressed that all government provided vaccines should be administered on time to protect children’s health.

Chandrababu Naidu Stresses Shared Parenting

During the interaction, the Chief Minister said changing social conditions require stronger family support systems. He stated that children should be viewed as an asset and not as a burden.

Naidu said fathers and other family members must actively participate in raising children. He recalled that in earlier generations, joint families helped in nurturing children and passing on values.

He noted that grandparents and extended family members once played an important role in childcare and family support. He urged society to restore those traditions.

The Chief Minister also said the government was encouraging families to have two or more children and was creating awareness programmes for parents on child development and family welfare.
