Hyderabad, June 29, 2026: A Fast Track Special Court for expeditious trial and disposal of rape and POCSO cases at L.B. Nagar has convicted an accused in a case registered by Pahadishareef Police Station and awarded 20 years of rigorous imprisonment.
The conviction was delivered in Crime No. 70/2020 (Sessions Case No. 967/2020), registered under Sections 366 and 376(2)(i)(n) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 5(l) read with Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The court imposed the following punishment:
- Rigorous Imprisonment: 20 Years
- Fine: ₹20,000
- Victim Compensation: ₹1,00,000
According to police, the case originated on February 10, 2020, after a complaint was lodged stating that a 17-year-old girl had gone missing from her residence in Devender Nagar Colony, Raviryala village on the previous night.
Following unsuccessful efforts by family members to trace her, suspicion was raised against a neighbour and a missing case was initially registered.
During the investigation, police traced the minor. The subsequent inquiry concluded that the accused had allegedly kidnapped and repeatedly sexually assaulted the victim.
Based on the evidence gathered, the case sections were revised and a detailed charge sheet was filed before the court.
After examining oral, documentary and scientific evidence presented during trial, the court found the accused guilty and delivered the conviction.
Police stated that the outcome resulted from coordinated work by investigation officers, prosecutors, court duty officers and supporting police personnel involved in the case investigation and trial process.
