Police Seize 50 Kg of Suspected Adulterated Meat In Mallepally

Hyderabad, July 2: Hyderabad Police seized around 50 kg of suspected adulterated meat during a raid on a meat shop in Mallepally after receiving information that beef was allegedly being mixed with goat meat and sold as mutton.

The H-FAST team, along with Habeebnagar police, conducted the surprise inspection at Osman Meat Shop near Badi Masjid on Wednesday.

During the inspection, officials found meat that was suspected to have been mixed with beef and sold as goat meat. The entire stock was seized, and samples were collected and sent to a forensic laboratory for analysis to determine the exact nature of the meat.

Based on the preliminary findings, Habeebnagar police registered a case against the shop owner, Osman Qureshi.

Police said the investigation will determine how long the alleged adulteration had been taking place and whether others were involved in the operation.

Officials added that further action will be taken based on the laboratory test results.
