Ponguleti Hits Back At BRS Over Corruption Allegations

Hyderabad, July 2: Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Thursday strongly criticised the BRS leadership, accusing the party of attempting to shift allegations of corruption onto the Congress government.

Speaking to the media, Ponguleti responded to remarks made by former ministers K. T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao regarding alleged irregularities in government tenders. He questioned whether the BRS was trying to blame the Congress for corruption that allegedly occurred during its tenure.

Ponguleti Hits Back at BRS

The minister said the Congress government was prepared for public discussions and had never avoided debate. He claimed that Congress ministers waited near Gun Park for a scheduled discussion, while BRS leaders remained at Telangana Bhavan.

Ponguleti also accused the BRS of ignoring public welfare during its ten years in power. He alleged that the party’s leadership had become disconnected from the people because of arrogance.

Referring to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s statements in the Assembly, Ponguleti said the government had presented details regarding the state’s financial and administrative issues. He criticised BRS leaders for making remarks about dissolving the government and seeking fresh elections.

The minister said the mandate given by the people should be respected for its full five year term. The BRS had not responded to Ponguleti’s latest remarks at the time of publication.
