Internet, July 3: The Gujarat Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested eight people for allegedly attempting to establish a network linked to the banned terrorist organisation Jaish e Mohammed (JeM) in Gujarat and neighbouring Madhya Pradesh.
The arrests were made during simultaneous raids conducted on Thursday in Banaskantha, Patan and Navsari districts of Gujarat, and Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ahmed Ghaziwala, Ibrahim Ghagha, Mudassir Ghaziwala, Zakaria Durrani, Mufti Faujan Daua, Mohammad Amin Palanpuri, Mohammad Abdul Sawdi and Bilal Durrani Ghagha.
According to ATS officials, three of the accused are associated with religious educational institutions in Sidhpur and Chikhli. Investigators alleged that the group was actively working to strengthen the network of the banned outfit in Gujarat.
Officials also alleged that the accused were planning recruitment activities in support of the organisation.
Cases have been registered against the accused under relevant anti terrorism laws. Investigators have seized digital devices and other materials during the raids.
The ATS said further investigation is underway to examine the group’s alleged links with the banned organisation and identify any wider network operating in other parts of the country.
