Hyderabad, July 11: Tension prevailed on the Shabad road on Saturday after police detained former Telangana minister Sabitha Indra Reddy while she was on her way to meet the families of the victims in the Shabad multiple murder case.
Police intercepted Sabitha Indra Reddy near the Chevella–Malkapur Gate, preventing her from proceeding to Shabad. She was subsequently taken into custody and shifted to another location.
The police action comes amid heightened security arrangements in Shabad mandal following the recent multiple murders.
Authorities have deployed additional police personnel across the area to prevent any deterioration in the law and order situation.
Senior police officials are camping in Shabad to closely monitor the situation and ensure peace is maintained.
Officials have not yet issued a detailed statement explaining the reasons for preventing the former minister from visiting the victims’ families.
