The protesters opposed the government’s move to fence around 650 acres and demanded clear assurances before any land acquisition process proceeds.

Officials arrived at Bahadurguda to begin fencing land in Survey Nos. 28 and 62, which has been identified for the proposed bullet train hub project.

Farmers refused to hand over their land, insisting that the government first clarify compensation, rehabilitation and acquisition plans.

Heavy police deployment has remained in the village for the past five days as tensions continued over the proposed project.

On Saturday, police detained several protesters after they allegedly attempted to obstruct the fencing work. They were later shifted to the local police station.

The situation remained tense as authorities continued security arrangements while officials carried out the fencing process. (Maxim News)
