Hyderabad, July 18: A young woman was found dead in a pond near Shankarnagar in Peerzadiguda on Friday, triggering concern among local residents. Police have registered a case of suspicious death and launched an investigation.
Locals spotted the woman’s body floating in the pond and immediately alerted the police.
Police reached the spot, recovered the body and conducted a preliminary inspection. The body was later shifted to a hospital for postmortem examination.
Investigators are yet to establish the identity of the deceased or determine the exact cause of death.
Police are examining all possible angles, including whether the woman accidentally fell into the pond or if there was any foul play.
