Telangana Slips To 13th In NITI Aayog Investment Ranking: BRS MLA Sanjay

Hyderabad, July 20: BRS Korutla MLA Dr. Sanjay on Monday alleged that Telangana has slipped to the 13th position in the NITI Aayog Investment Friendliness Index 2026 after the Congress government assumed office under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Sanjay claimed the State consistently remained among the top three in the Ease of Doing Business rankings during the previous BRS government led by former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

Sanjay said Telangana never fell below the third position during the nine years when K.T. Rama Rao handled the IT portfolio.

He claimed the State’s industrial policies were widely appreciated and were emulated by other states, including Andhra Pradesh.

The MLA said the TS iPASS policy received recognition for providing approvals within 15 days through a single window system. He added that NITI Aayog continues to appreciate the policy even in 2026.

Sanjay alleged that despite retaining the TS iPASS framework, Telangana has dropped to the 13th position, indicating a decline in the State’s investment climate.

He further claimed that industries and investors were moving away from Telangana and that no significant new investments were coming into the State under the present government.

The BRS leader said the latest ranking should prompt the government to review its industrial policies and governance model.
