Meerpet murder | Hyderabad, July 21 (Maxim News): A rowdy sheeter was hacked to death in Meerpet late on Monday night in a suspected revenge killing linked to an earlier murder case. Police have launched a manhunt for the prime suspect and his associates.
According to police, the victim, Nandanavanam Suri, was attacked near TKR College after he was allegedly lured to the location by the main accused, Afroz, on the pretext of attending a friend’s birthday celebration.
Police said Afroz allegedly sprayed pepper spray into Suri’s eyes before attacking him repeatedly with sharp weapons. The assault left Suri with grievous injuries, and he collapsed at the scene.
Meerpet Murder Linked to Old Homicide Case
Local residents rushed Suri to a nearby private hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Investigators suspect the Meerpet murder was an act of revenge. Police said Suri had earlier been named as an accused in the murder of his wife and his brother in law, Salman.
Officials believe Afroz, who is Salman’s brother, had allegedly been waiting for an opportunity to avenge the earlier killing. Preliminary findings indicate that the attack was planned in advance.
Following the incident, Meerpet police collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and registered a case. Investigation teams are examining all possible angles while searching for Afroz and other suspects believed to have taken part in the attack.
Police said Suri had a long criminal history and was listed as a rowdy sheeter. Several criminal cases were pending against him. Authorities had also imposed a city externment order on him a few months ago because of his criminal record.
The investigation is continuing, and police are working to trace the accused. (Maxim News)
