Hyderabad, July 24: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Friday expressed solidarity with students protesting over the alleged NEET paper leak, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the withdrawal of cases registered against student protesters.
KTR participated in a protest at Indira Park in Hyderabad to extend support to the students protesting at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
Addressing the gathering, KTR condemned the alleged police action against students, describing it as inhumane. He said the youth were demanding accountability and justice over the alleged examination irregularities.
He demanded the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and called for the withdrawal of cases registered against the protesting students.
KTR said students and youth had been protesting in Delhi for several days, cutting across political affiliations, and asserted that the BRS stood in solidarity with their demands.
He criticised the Union government over the alleged paper leak and claimed the youth were seeking justice. Referring to the Prime Minister’s employment promises, KTR alleged that instead of delivering jobs, the government had failed to prevent examination irregularities.
KTR also targeted Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, questioning his silence over the alleged NEET paper leak and the police action against students.
He alleged that the Chief Minister had not spoken in support of the protesting students and accused him of raising unrelated political issues instead of addressing their concerns.
KTR said the BRS would continue its support for the student movement until justice was delivered to those affected by the alleged paper leak.
