According to the Commission, the OMR sheets were discovered between pillars 230 and 240 of the PVNR Expressway on Saturday night. The documents pertain to the Hostel Welfare Officers Recruitment Examination conducted in 2018, for which the selection process had already been completed.
TGPSC clarified that the answer sheets had been identified for disposal and destruction in accordance with established procedures.
“It appears that a few OMR sheets were found on the roadside. The circumstances +leading to this incident are being verified,” the Commission said in a statement.
The Commission has directed the Superintendent of Police posted at TGPSC to conduct an inquiry into how the confidential documents reached a public place and submit a report within three days.
TGPSC said strict action will be taken against those found responsible if the inquiry establishes any negligence or procedural lapses.
As per the Commission’s guidelines, OMR answer sheets of recruitment examinations are preserved for three years after the recruitment process is completed. They are then identified for disposal and sent for shredding following the prescribed procedure.
