Hyderabad, August 1: The ninth edition of the Global Grace Cancer Run 2026 will be held on October 11 at the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad, with organisers aiming to raise funds for free cancer screening of one lakh underprivileged people through mobile screening units.

The event was officially launched on Friday at Hotel Daspalla in Jubilee Hills. Filmmaker Anil Ravipudi and actress Nidhhi Agerwal unveiled the official event T shirt and Finisher’s Medal.
The run will be conducted in both physical and virtual formats, with the Hyderabad edition taking place in person. Participants can register for 2K, 5K and 10K categories.
Speaking at the launch, Nidhhi Agerwal described doctors as the “real heroes” and stressed the importance of preventive healthcare.
“Prevention is always better than cure. Once you cross the age of 40, make regular health check ups a part of your life,” she said.
Anil Ravipudi highlighted the need to reduce stress and adopt a healthy lifestyle. He said maintaining a positive mindset contributes to overall well being.
“Happy Mind, Happy Life,” he said, adding that laughter and positive thinking help people stay mentally and physically healthy.
Dr. Chinnababu Sunkavalli, Founder of the Grace Cancer Foundation, said the event has evolved into a global movement promoting cancer awareness, prevention and early detection.
He announced that the Grace Cancer Foundation will soon be listed on the National Stock Exchange’s Social Stock Exchange, enabling greater transparency and wider public participation in supporting its initiatives.
According to Dr. Sunkavalli, funds raised through this year’s run will support free screening for one lakh economically disadvantaged people for cancer and other non communicable diseases. The initiative will also promote HPV vaccination, awareness campaigns, lifestyle modification and preventive healthcare through mobile screening units in underserved areas.
Dr. Pavan Gorukanti, Director of Yashoda Hospitals, said early detection significantly improves cancer survival rates and urged people to adopt active and healthy lifestyles.
Quambiant Developers Founder Yogendranath, representing the event’s global title sponsor, said the company was proud to continue supporting the initiative to improve early cancer detection.
Since its inception, the Global Grace Cancer Run has reached nearly 1.4 crore people across more than 130 countries and has earned six Guinness World Records. Organisers expect around 35,000 participants in Hyderabad and over one lakh participants globally this year.
The theme for the 2026 edition is “Run for Grace. Screen for Life.” Dr. Pedda Reddy Talugula will serve as the Race Director.
