Hyderabad: Apple could increase the prices of all new and older iPhone models by around ₹10,000 when it launches the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, according to a new leak.
Tipster Yogesh Brar claimed on X that Apple could raise iPhone prices by $100, or roughly ₹10,000, by September 8. The reported price revision could coincide with the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and Apple’s first book-style foldable iPhone.
However, Apple has not confirmed any price hike. The reported information should therefore be treated as a leak until the company makes an official announcement.
iPhone Prices Could Rise by ₹10,000
The reported price increase could also affect older iPhone models that remain on sale. These could include the iPhone 17, iPhone Air and iPhone 17e.
The tipster also claimed that Apple could discontinue some older Pro models after introducing its new flagship lineup. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus could also reportedly be removed from Apple’s current lineup.
Currently, the iPhone 17 starts at ₹82,900 in India for the 256GB model. The iPhone Air and iPhone 17e start at ₹1,19,900 and ₹64,900, respectively.
If the reported ₹10,000 hike is implemented, the iPhone 17 could cost ₹92,900. The iPhone Air could rise to ₹1,29,900, while the iPhone 17e could start at ₹74,900.
Apple has not confirmed these revised prices or the September 8 timeline.
The company has faced rising manufacturing costs across its product portfolio. Apple CEO Tim Cook had previously indicated that higher costs could lead to price increases across some of its devices.
The upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are also expected to be more expensive than the current iPhone 17 Pro models.
For now, buyers should treat the reported ₹10,000 increase as speculation. Apple is expected to reveal official pricing when it announces its next-generation iPhone lineup.
