Hyderabad, August 25: The Telangana High Court has again extended the validity of old journalist accreditation cards till September 15, 2026.
The court issued the direction while hearing petitions challenging GO 252 and its amended GO 103.
The Telangana Urdu Working Journalists’ Federation (TUWJF) and others challenged the government orders before the High Court.
The court heard the matter on Tuesday and extended the validity of the existing accreditation cards.
The order provides further relief to journalists holding the old cards.
Journalist accreditation cards extended till September 15
The petitions challenge changes introduced through GO 252 and GO 103 in the journalist accreditation system. The petitioners have raised their concerns before the High Court.
Meanwhile, the latest order allows journalists to continue using their existing accreditation cards until September 15. This prevents an immediate disruption to their professional duties.
The next hearing is scheduled for September 15, 2026. The court is expected to consider the petitions and the government’s response during the next hearing.
For now, the accreditation cards remain valid until September 15 under the High Court’s latest order.
