City slipped to lower position in Swacch Bharat ranking: Shabbir Ali

Hyderabad, May 6: Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council and senior Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir lambasted the TRS government for its alleged failure to live up to the promises made in its election manifesto while addressing Media at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday.
He alleged that TRS government failed to deliver what it has promised for the development of Hyderabad city and its multifaceted development. He said that lack of will and poor planning by the government had led to depreciating Swacch Bharat ranking of city compared to previous year.
He said, “Hyderabad’s Swacch Bharat ranking dropped to 22nd position whereas Vizag stands at 3rd and Tirupathi at 9th position.”
State government and KTR promised to develop Hyderabad on lines of New York, Dallas and Istambol but what has happened in this direction, what happened the spending of cores of rupees, he challenged KTR for debate on three years City Development.
GHMC is not yet ready with contingency plan for monsoon , since the road development programs not yet started and other basic issues were not sorted out, the drinking water problems were still exists and no progress in Musi river beautification, he alleged.
Recalling the work done during Congress governments he said that whatever the progress is visible in Hyderabad today was the result of Rs 1 lakh crore projects sanctioned back then.
Telangana is low in Tourism development compared to other states, and it ranks on 30 th position and government failed to promoting tourism in spite of having historic and cultural and amusement places , he alleged.
He said that IT exports from the state stood at Rs 70,000 crore whereas the volume of IT exports from neighbouring Karnataka during past one year was Rs 2.25 lakhs crores and it is ranked in 4 th place, KTR gives big statements on IT what happened to that he alleged.
Accusing the State government of failing in every sector, Shabbir Ali said that health sector was ailing, every day there are headlines in news papers about deaths of pregnant women and deaths children and there are reports that fungus found in saline bottle at koti hospital, why government not reacting to any of the issues , why not Chief Minister pays a visit to the government hospitals and guide them for improvement , it seems CM has no empathy for sufferings of poor people.
