Hyderabad, Sept 5 (Maxim News): BRS Working President K Tarak Rama Rao (KTR) said that KRMB’s orders are a blow to Telangana. He criticized the KRMB’s orders to stop power generation from Srisailam as evidence of the Congress government’s incompetence.
KTR accused KRMB of damaging Telangana’s interests by invoking El Nino. He questioned under what rules and under what rights water is being transferred to the Veligonda project. He questioned whether KRMB is not exploiting AP’s water. He said that while AP is transferring irrigation water to Veligonda as per the norms, the Telangana government is cooperating by closing the Palamuru and Rangareddy lift irrigation pumps. He criticized the Telangana government for leaving Telangana’s interests and people to chance while the AP government is working for Andhra’s interests there.
KTR questioned whether the 11th schedule of the Bifurcation Act applies only to Telangana. He said that Revanth Reddy had given away Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar reservoirs to AP due to incompetent governance. He said that farmers’ fields are drying up under the Nagarjuna Sagar Left Canal Ayacut, Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation, Jurala, Nettempadu, and Bhima Lift Irrigation schemes. He said that if power generation is stopped now, there will be no electricity for the farmers’ cultivation under boreholes. On August 21, there were 169 TMC in the Srisailam reservoir. Today, it has dropped to 139 TMC. He said that 30 TMC had disappeared in 15 days. He said that if all the motors are running through KLI, only 2400 cusecs can be lifted per day. He said that only three motors are running there now.
KTR criticized the Congress government for being indifferent to the fact that AP is diverting Krishna waters. He blamed the Congress government’s incompetence for this plight. He made it clear that the Congress’ failures will be exposed in the public sphere and that this incompetent government will be reprimanded. (Maxim News)
