Hyderabad, Sept. 6: The Telangana Assembly monsoon session is set to begin tomorrow, with several key issues expected to come up for discussion.
Assembly Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy has already indicated that the session could witness heated debates.
Against this backdrop, the police and intelligence departments have been advised to remain alert during the session.
The Speaker directed officials to cooperate in ensuring the smooth conduct of Assembly proceedings. He also said officers from all departments would be made available when required.
Key Issues Likely to Dominate Assembly Session
The government may discuss a proposal to lower the minimum age for contesting Legislative Assembly elections to 21 years.
Issues related to land pooling, 22A lands and land acquisition are also expected to receive attention during the session.
Meanwhile, the property tax policy and the role of HYDRA could become major points of discussion.
Irrigation projects are also likely to feature prominently in the proceedings. Opposition parties may raise several issues during the session.
The Assembly session is therefore expected to witness detailed discussions and political exchanges on several key matters concerning Telangana.
