Hyderabad, Sept. 10: EAGLE Force has seized assets worth an estimated Rs 3.02 crore in an interstate alprazolam network.
The operation targeted alleged drug trafficking links across Telangana, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
The Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement worked with Telangana police and other departments during the investigation.
Officials said the operation focused on drugs, money flows and assets allegedly acquired through drug trafficking.
Police also seized 1.087 kg of alprazolam in a related case registered by Nizamabad Rural Police.
The case was registered under Section 8(c) read with 22(c) of the NDPS Act.
EAGLE Force Traces Money Trail in Alprazolam Network
Investigators identified an alleged network involving Telangana and Rajasthan. They also traced links to Maharashtra.
Police said four accused were taken into custody in the Nizamabad Rural case. The investigation allegedly found assets linked to the accused, their associates and relatives.
Investigators said Gandham Srinivas Goud had allegedly been involved in supplying raw materials used in adulterated toddy production for several years.
According to the investigation, he allegedly sourced alprazolam from Rajasthan and chloral hydrate from Solapur in Maharashtra.
Police said the materials were stored at residential premises and warehouses before being supplied to different districts.
Officials linked the accused to several earlier excise cases. In 2016, Armur Excise Police allegedly seized 2 kg of alprazolam and 30 kg of chloral hydrate.
Nizamabad Excise Police also seized 8 kg of alprazolam in another case that year.
In 2017, Nirmal Excise Police allegedly seized 2 kg of alprazolam and 330 kg of chloral hydrate.
Mortad Excise Police also seized 200 grams of alprazolam in a separate case.
Armur Excise Police later seized 180 kg of chloral hydrate in 2018.
In 2022, Nirmal Excise Police seized 125 kg of chloral hydrate. Echoda Excise Police also seized 100 kg of chloral hydrate and a car.
Officials said Nirmal Excise Police invoked the Preventive Detention Act in 2022 over repeated alleged involvement in such activities.
The investigation later identified alleged interstate links with Rajasthan based Ratan Singh.
Investigators examined the drug source, supply routes, intended receivers and financial transactions. They also traced other people allegedly connected with the network.
In another operation near the Hanuman temple at Kalur village, police detained three people. They seized 1.087 kg of alprazolam valued at around Rs 10.87 lakh.
Police also seized Rs 3.5 lakh in cash, a Hyundai i20, a Maruti Swift Dzire and five mobile phones.
Investigators then examined property records and financial documents linked to the suspects.
These included revenue passbooks, sale deeds, property tax receipts, building permissions, registration certificates and purchase invoices.
Officials identified 4.20 acres of agricultural land and 667.15 square yards of open plots.
The assets also included a residential house, a four wheeler and a two wheeler.
Their value under government rates was estimated at around Rs 52 lakh. The current market value was estimated at about Rs 3.02 crore.
Based on the financial investigation, authorities forfeited the identified properties under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act on September 8, 2026.
The relevant Competent Authority in Chennai confirmed the action, according to officials.
EAGLE Force said the operation reflects a wider strategy against the drug economy. The agency is tracking alleged illegal income, financial transactions and asset creation linked to drug trafficking.
Officials said the investigation covers every stage, from procurement and manufacturing to transportation and distribution.
The agency is also focusing on financial trails and property ownership linked to suspected drug networks.
EAGLE Force said it plans to strengthen intelligence based enforcement, interstate coordination, financial investigations and technical surveillance.
The agency will also focus on identifying alleged suppliers, manufacturers, transporters, distributors, financiers and beneficiaries.
Officials urged citizens to report credible information about suspected drug sales, storage, transportation or distribution to the police and EAGLE Force.
They said public cooperation can help prevent drugs from reaching young people.
