The Housing Board will reportedly start refunding the deposit amount from today. Applicants paid Rs 10,000 as a security deposit while applying for the housing scheme.

Officials checked applications against records from several government departments. They used data from the Revenue, Transport and GHMC departments during the verification process.

Officials have reportedly inspected around 5,500 families so far. The field verification may finish within the next two days.

After the survey, authorities will prepare the final beneficiary list. The Housing Board will then publish the list on its official website.

The process will decide which eligible families can move ahead with house allotment. At the same time, applicants who fail the eligibility checks will receive their Rs 10,000 deposit back.

Officials have also identified another issue involving selected beneficiaries. Some applicants entered incorrect mobile numbers while submitting their applications.

Several beneficiaries asked the department to allow them to correct their phone numbers. In response, officials enabled a mobile number update facility on the Telangana Housing Board website.

Selected beneficiaries can access their applications using their application number or Aadhaar number. They can then update the mobile number linked to their application.

The facility should help beneficiaries receive future updates about their housing applications. It also aims to reduce problems caused by incorrect contact details.

The refund process and field survey are therefore moving alongside the final verification. Officials will use the survey findings before finalising the beneficiary list.

The Housing Board is expected to publish the final list after completing these checks. Eligible families can then proceed with the next stage of the housing process.

However, applicants who remain ineligible will receive the Rs 10,000 deposit they paid during application. The refund will reportedly reach the bank accounts of the concerned applicants. (Maxim News)
