Hyderabad, Sept. 11: Former minister and MLA Harish Rao alleged that collectors were pressured to place lands in the 22A prohibited list.
Rao made the remarks during a BRS presentation on the 22A land list issue at Telangana Bhavan on Friday.
He alleged that collectors were forced to prepare and send lists of prohibited lands.
Rao demanded that Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy resign if the allegations were proved.
Harish Rao Raises Questions Over 22A Land List
Rao said the government issued an order on September 11, 2025, seeking a new prohibited land list.
He said the Jangaon Collector prepared a list on November 20, 2025, and sent it to the IG Stamps and Registration.
Rao claimed the lands were subsequently included in the 22A prohibited list.
He alleged that similar action took place across Telangana districts.
Rao also cited Sirpur and Kagaz Nagar, where he claimed around 30,000 acres were added to the prohibited list in October 2025.
He further alleged that around 11,000 houses in the Mancherial constituency were placed on the list.
Rao questioned whether collectors from all 33 districts had prepared and submitted such lists.
He said the BRS presented details of district collectors to support its claims.
Rao also demanded Ponguleti’s resignation over the alleged irregularities.
The allegations come amid a political dispute between the BRS and Congress over the 22A prohibited land list.
